CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a centralised national entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admission to 5-year BA LLB and 3-year LLM programmes at 25 NLUs. To apply for CLAT 2026, candidates must visit the official Consortium website (consortiumofnlus.ac.in), register online, fill the application form, upload documents, and pay the application fee (βΉ4,000 for general category). Eligibility: 12th pass with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).
LLB stands for Legum Baccalaureus (Bachelor of Laws). In India, LLB is offered in two formats: a 3-year LLB (for graduates) and a 5-year integrated BA LLB / BBA LLB / BSc LLB (for students entering directly after Class 12). The 3-year LLB requires a bachelor's degree in any discipline, while the 5-year programme requires passing Class 12 (10+2).
